Adobe RoboHelp: Add Custom Location to Open Project Dialog
One of the great annoyances of RoboHelp for me has always been the Open Project dialog. This dialog shows a list of folders on the left site for easy access. But I never use any of the default folders so that means clicking until I end up at the folder where my projects are stored. Very annoying!
But Rick Stone (aka RoboWizard, and known from GooberGuides.) came to the rescue! He showed me that you can add your own directories to the Open Project dialog for easy access. I had no idea! Rick just won the RoboHero of the year award!
Here is how to add your own folder to the Open Project dialog:
- Open RoboHelp and select File > Open.
- In the dialog, find the folder where your RoboHelp projects are stored.
- Click Tools > Add to “My Places”.
- Your folder is now added to the file open dialog.
Rick was kind enough to make a short screen cast on this and he kindly allowed me to share it. You can view the video on: http://screencast.com/t/UvFtWhbrRTQm
