Adobe RoboHelp: Cross-reference Index Keywords
An index often contains many synonyms to allow readers to find a topic even if they use a different terminology. Managing all these variants can be difficult because you have to ensure that all synonyms are applied to the same topics. To make this job easier, RoboHelp allows you to create cross-references between index keywords.
- Ensure that your index has as least one entry.
- Add a new index keyword.
- Right-click the new Keyword and choose Properties.
- Select Cross-reference and select the keyword you want to link to. (In the example below I created the User keyword and I’m linking it to the Employee keyword.)
- Click the OK button to save the keyword.
The keyword is now cross-referenced. All topics that you assign to the referenced keyword will also be assigned to the selected keyword. In this example, all topics linked to Employee are also available to User.
