Improve user experience by providing a method for your readers to return to the top of a page quickly and easily, courtesy of the free Scroll Up jQuery plugin.
When the depth of your pages forces readers to scroll down, and down, and down, for example when there’s no practical break point or your using bookmarks to jump to anchors further down your pages, you need a neat way to propel your readers back to the top. That’s where a scroll up button can really help. There are many scripts on the internet that can do this for you, but my favourite is ScrollUp.
ScrollUp is a jQuery plugin available for free which provides a simple “scroll to top” link at the foot of any web page, just like those in a WebHelp project. This gracefully returns readers to the top of the page, quickly and easily. RoboHelp doesn’t have an inbuilt script for achieving this, so this project demonstrates how easy it is to incorporate this kind of functionality into your Help system.
